about

Martin Opršál and Radim Hanousek have for many years focused on the connection of the sounds of marimba and saxophone or bass clarinet and the search for new sonic possibilities. Both have also been collaborating since 2013 in the Dust in the Groove project, which mixes contemporary music, jazz and free improvisation in a completely free, natural and communicative way.
In addition to a number of joint concerts, improvisations and friendly gatherings, Radim Hanousek shares an interest in Anthony Braxton's music with the Swiss composer and trombonist Roland Dahinden. Together they organized three performances of Braxton's compositions for large ensembles, the last in 2021, when Dahinden, as a student, colleague and friend of Anthony Braxton, conducted a concert of Braxton's music at the Prague Music Performance Festival in the presence of the author.
The three met for the first time in 2021 at the Exposition of New Music festival, where Dust in the Groove performed Dahinden's composition Charlie Chat under the direction of the author. A spontaneous decision led this trio into the studio.
The album, which the three improvisers recorded together in two days, represents their sharing of sound ingenuity, playfulness and the joy of perceiving intertwining, shooting and circling musical and non-musical ideas.

Martin Opršál a Radim Hanousek se řadu let zaměřují na zvukové propojení marimby a saxofonu či basklarinetu a hledání nových zvukových možností, krajních poloh. Oba také spolupracují od roku 2013 v projektu Dust in the Groove, který mísí naprosto svobodně, přirozeně a komunikativně soudobou hudbu, jazz a volnou improvizaci.
Se švýcarským skladatelem a trombonistou Rolandem Dahindenem pojí Radima Hanouska kromě řady společných koncertů, improvizací a přátelských setkání zájem o hudbu Anthonyho Braxtona. Společně zorganizovali tři provedení Braxtonových kompozic pro velké ansámbly, poslední v roce 2021, kdy Dahinden jako žák, spoluhráč i přítel Anthonyho Braxtona dirigoval za přítomnosti autora koncert Braxtonovy hudby v rámci festivalu Prague Music Performance.
Všichni tři dohromady se poprvé setkali v roce 2021 na festivalu Expozice nové hudby, kde Dust in the Groove předvedl pod vedením autora Dahindenovu skladbu Charlie Chat. Spontánní rozhodnutí zavedlo toto trio do studia.
Album, které za dva dny tito tři improvizátoři společně nahráli, představuje jejich sdílení zvukové vynalézavosti, hravosti a radosti z vnímání vzájemného proplétání, vystřelování a kroužení hudebních i nehudebních myšlenek.
